Hi!

I’m Ginger, photographer & owner of GingerSnaps Photography!

 

Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, I spent every summer in Nags Head and moved here in Hig. I absolutely

love beach life, from sunshine to salty air, and I'm right at home working in flip-flops :) 

 

I earned degrees in Studio Art and Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) Following my graduation in 2006, I launched GingerSnaps and have been shooting weddings & portraits professionally ever since. 

 

I now live in Nags Head with my husband John, our adorable son, and rescue dogs. On our days off, we're gardening, working on a DIY project, or out for a boat ride in the sound. I love to cook & entertain, so having family and friends for dinner is something we really look forward to in the "off-season."

 

Traveling is also a huge passion of mine. I first fell in love with photography while completing my art degree in Italy. Shooting in a new place (whether I'm somewhere exotic or just across state lines) always sparks inspiration and stretches my creativity.

 

But there's no place like home, and after more than 13 years behind the camera, hundreds of weddings, and well over 1,000 beach portraits, I'm still in awe of the beauty that's around me here on the OBX.

If I had to pick the one thing I love most about my job, it's the people. I meet so many amazing families and couples, and I have the honor of capturing them building memories with the people they love the most. How cool is that!?!?!
