Hi!

I’m Ginger Harvey, photographer & owner of GingerSnaps Photography!

Growing up in Eastern North Carolina, I spent every summer as a kid on The Outer Banks. I absolutely

love beach life, from the sunshine to the salty air, and I'm right at home working in my flip-flops :)

I earned degrees in Studio Art and Psychology at UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!) Following my graduation in 2006, I launched GingerSnaps and have been shooting weddings & portraits professionally ever since.

I now live in Nags Head with my husband John and our two rescue dogs, Gracie & Ross. On our days off, John and I are usually gardening, working on a DIY project, or taking the pups on a hike or boat ride in the sound. I love to cook, entertain & eat good food. My parents live just a few miles away, so having family and friends for dinner is something we really look forward to in the "off-season."

Traveling is also a huge passion of mine. I first fell in love with photography while studying art in Florence, Italy.

Shooting in a new place (whether I'm somewhere exotic or just across state lines) always sparks inspiration and stretches my creativity.

But there's no place like home, and after more than 12 years behind the camera, hundreds of weddings, and well over 1,000 beach portraits, I'm still in awe of the beauty that's around me here on the OBX.

If I had to pick the one thing I love most about my job, it's the people. I meet so many amazing families and couples; I get to know them and build a relationship with them that's truly unique. They invite me into their lives, so I can capture moments of them building memories with the people they love the most. How cool is that!?!?!
